YUMMO
My tea last night
We do the hot cross bun and fish thingy for Good Friday
I made the fish and chips from scratch
Dragged the deep fryer out of the cupboard
Peeled the spuds cut into chips and made the batter for the fish
No Fish and Chip Shop job for us
Want to know how to make the best chips ever?
OK here goes
When you have peeled the potatos and cut into chips
put them into a bowl of water let stand for a few minutes
Drain all the water off and spread them on a clean tea towel and pat dry
Cook the chips in small batches untill cooked but not brown
Drain onto paper towel
When you have all your chips cooked refry untill golden brown
The chips will be crispy on the out side and soft in the middle
Yummmmmm
Now for the best batter recipe
Beer Batter
1 1/4 cups flour
pinch salt
1 egg
1 1/4 cups Beer
Make a well in the centre of the bowl of flour
Put egg in centre and slowly incorporate beer and
flour into the mixture by slowly stirring
Cover and let mixture stand 30 minutes
Soda Water can be used instead of Beer
After 30 minutes your batter is ready to use
Gotta goe now
NEED my coffee
will be back later with question 3
hope you are having fun playing along
luv
